Late18th to Early 19 Century Antique Folding Hand Fan - Most likely of French or English origin The Leaf: Features a hand-painted pastoral landscape scene typical of the Romantic era, depicting figures in classical or courtly dress outdoors Sticks and Guards: The lower structural pieces are crafted from pierced, carved materials such as bone or ivory, converging at a single metal pivot rivet. Gilded Accents: The upper edge of the leaf features fine gold-leaf detailing, typical of high-end European fans Gilded Cartouche: A decorative gold border frames the edge of the painted landscape panel. Condition Assessment: Leaf Wear: The pleated paper or silk material has darkening, light staining, and minor scuffs consistent with handling and age.
