Chinese Export Porcelain Figural Vase, Mid–20th Century. Height: 17 1/2 in. (44.5 cm); Diameter: 8 in. (20.3 cm). Of elegant baluster form rising to a flared trumpet neck, the vase finely enameled in the famille-rose palette with a continuous figural court scene, depicting scholars and attendants engaged in a narrative gathering beneath stylized trees and within an architectural garden setting. The composition is complemented by finely rendered calligraphic inscriptions in both iron-red and black, interspersed with artist seals. The shoulder is applied with a pair of molded mask handles with gilt accents, lending sculptural dimension. The pale celadon-toned ground enhances the delicacy of the painted decoration, while the interior and base remain simply glazed. Condition: Overall very good condition consistent with age and decorative use. Scattered light surface wear and minor firing imperfections visible, including small glaze inclusions and speckling. Minor wear and rubbing to the gilt highlights at the rim and handles. No visible cracks or restoration observed. Base with expected wear, including discoloration and kiln residue around the foot rim.
