A jobber length drill bit index in a gray steel case with a hinged lid, laid out in the 115 piece pattern that covers number drills 1 through 60, letter drills A through Z and fractional sizes from 1/16 to 1/2 inch. The printed charts inside the lid are intact and readable, showing the decimal equivalent for every position plus an American Standard machine screw tap drill table and a general tap information table. Be aware that the set is not complete. Several positions in the racks are empty, and the sizes present are a working mix rather than a full index. The bits that are there are high speed steel, used, and show dulled lips, some discoloration from heat and light rust on a few shanks. The case is dented with surface rust on the lid and the latch works. A shop index like this is still worth having for the common sizes and for the chart alone, and the gaps can be filled a few bits at a time as you need them. Estimated Value: $25 to $45 based on comparable recent sales. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
