Large 13.75" tall Navajo pottery vase by Loraine Williams, featuring an elegant elongated neck and full rounded body decorated with intricately etched and painted geometric designs. The shoulder and neck feature repeating stepped, triangular, and meandering motifs rendered in warm terracotta red, brown, and black tones against the naturally variegated clay surface. The combination of incised decoration and earthy coloration gives the vessel a striking Southwestern presence while retaining the character of traditional Navajo pottery. The underside is hand-signed “Loraine Williams” and marked “L.W.” Williams is a Navajo/Diné potter associated with the Four Corners region and a family of accomplished Navajo ceramic artists. The vase shows natural variations in coloration and surface associated with its handmade construction, along with some light surface wear. An impressive example of signed Native American pottery, Navajo etched pottery, Diné ceramic art, Southwestern pottery, and collectible Indigenous art. See photos for signature, decorative details, and condition.
