Rare official parchment document issued by the royal chancery of Louis XVI, dated June 17, 1787 (the 14th year of his reign), i.e., two years before the French Revolution. These letters patent concern the ratification of a sale agreement before a notary in Tours. The act aims to guarantee the non-transferable ownership of two parcels of vineyard acquired by Mr. Jean-Baptiste Morguet from Michel Jouée, mason in Tours. The document is a direct application of the June 1771 Edict on the discharge of mortgages, a rigorous administrative procedure of the Ancien Régime. Presence of a remnant of a red wax seal. Dimensions reminder: 48 x 27.2 cm Condition: Good overall condition, with a missing part and damage to a back annotation. See photos for more details.
