Charles Russell reproduction vintage print titled: "Loops and Swift Horses are Surer than Lead". Original painting resides at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. This print was manufactured between the 1940s and 1970s. This is a print on canvas with paint applied over the print, 23.5" x 37.5" (framed). Charles M. Russell (1864–1926) Charles Marion Russell was an American painter, sculptor, illustrator and storyteller best known for his vivid depictions of the American West. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Russell moved to Montana at age 16, where he worked as a cowboy and wrangler for more than a decade. His firsthand experience of life on the range became the foundation of his art. Entirely self-taught, Russell developed a distinctive style characterized by energetic compositions, careful observation and a strong sense of narrative. He depicted cowboys, Indigenous peoples, wildlife and Western landscapes in oil, watercolor, pencil and bronze. He also spent time in Alberta, Canada, where his experiences among Plains Indigenous communities influenced his work. Russell produced approximately 4,000 works during his lifetime and became one of the most influential artists of the American West. His work is held in major museums and collections throughout North America, and he remains widely recognized as one of the defining figures of Western art.
