Antique early 20th-century slag glass table lamp, featuring a striking hexagonal shade composed of richly variegated caramel, amber and cream slag glass panels, each framed within an ornate, dark-finished metal framework. The shade is further embellished with intricate foliate and floral pierced-metal decoration, lending the lamp an elegant period character and exceptional visual presence. The shade is surmounted by a decorative finial and rests upon an elaborately cast and ornamented metal base with a substantial, architectural form. The combination of the warm translucent glass, detailed metalwork and sculptural base creates a particularly handsome example of early 20th-century decorative lighting, evocative of the Arts & Crafts and transitional Art Deco periods.
