Valdimir Horik textured oil painting. "Couleur Du Quebec". 16" X 19.5". Framed and signed, bottom right. Vladimir Horik was born in Edmonton, Alberta, in 1939 to Ukrainian parents. He spent his youth in Western Canada before serving for nine years in the Canadian Army as a paratrooper and communications specialist. Following his military service, Horik pursued formal studies in art at the École des Beaux-Arts de Québec and later earned a teaching certificate in visual arts from Université Laval. Horik eventually settled in the Charlevoix region of Quebec, where the landscape became the central inspiration for his work. He is particularly recognized for his expressive landscapes, characterized by vibrant colour, dramatic contrasts, luminous effects, and confident brushwork. His work has been exhibited extensively across Canada and Europe and is represented in numerous public and private collections.
