Rosalie Bishop (Nova Scotia, Canada), oil on board, “Trees & Stream”, 9" x 12". signed and dated 1975 on reverse, with an Manuge Galleries label (Framed). Rosalie Bishop was a Nova Scotian painter associated with the Halifax and Chester-area art communities. Active from at least the 1950s, she exhibited alongside prominent Maritime artists and became known for her atmospheric landscapes and coastal scenes of Nova Scotia. Her subjects include Hubbards, New Harbour, rocky coastlines and wooded landscapes. Bishop's work has continued to appear in Canadian auctions and private collections.
