H:100cm D:72cm Vintage Italian Zoffoli Globe-Bar, a classic floor-standing globe concealing a liquor cabinet, designed in an Italian Baroque Revival style. It features a solid walnut base, a turned gourd-shaped central column and four feet fitted with small casters for easy mobility. The globe surface reproduces antique world maps from the Age of Discovery (16th-17th centuries) in a sepia aged finish, with place names in Latin and illustrated with old sailing ships and sea monsters, recreating the cartographic aesthetic of the great age of exploration. The outer equatorial ring is printed with the complete zodiac, Roman month names (FEBRARIVS, MARTIVS, etc.) and astrological symbols - the signature decoration of this series. Far more than a mere map, it integrates medieval astronomical and astrological motifs. When the globe is opened, the inner dome of the upper hemisphere is fully printed with reproductions of European mythological frescoes, depicting sea gods, angels, heraldic crests and Latin mottos, evoking Renaissance church domes. The globe's interior serves as the bar cabinet, fitted with moulded compartmental recesses specially shaped to secure bottles and stemware and prevent shifting or chipping. The base panel bears a print of Bacchus and nymphs. Rarely preserved in complete condition; natural patina from age enhances its vintage charm. Functional and collectible as antique furniture.
