Pink-Topaz Woven-Gold Bracelet-Chain .

Slightly expandable, total length 17-cm, suitable for wrist circumference up to 14.5-cm. Wt:23g

Georgian-period antique bracelet-chain. The chain is formed of substantial densely woven gold mesh, robust yet supple. The clasp-bezel is ornately worked in characteristic Georgian filigree and granulation; fine gold beads radiate to form an elaborate floral-style setting. Centrally set within the bezel is a cushion-cut pink-topaz displaying rich soft pink-purple colouration. The combination of gold woven chain with filigree-and-granulation clasp represents a highly typical Georgian bracelet-chain form. Multiple ancient techniques including wire-weaving, filigree and granulation demanded exceptional craftsmanship. Granulation gold beads are delicate and prone to loss over centuries. Well-preserved intact surviving examples are scarce, demonstrating the supreme goldsmithing skill of the Georgian era.

ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS OR CANCELLATIONS.

Additional photographs and condition reports may be provided upon request as a courtesy only.
