Civil War USN M1841 Naval Cutlass. Double edged blade. Maker marked by Ames on the ricasso, dated 1846 and USN WP on the reverse. Cast brass hilt with D guard and fish scale pattern grip secured by three steel rivets. Marked NWP on the quillon. No scabbard. Blade Length: 21" Total Length: 26 1/2" Condition: Good. Light wear, dark spots and oxidation.
