pair of antique Chinese cloisonné enamel vases converted into luxury table lamps. Dimension: 32"H. The main bodies of the baluster-style vases feature a striking sky blue enamel background, intricately textured with an overall gold-wire geometric grid or cloud-fret pattern. The surface is densely decorated with a vibrant array of traditional Chinese symbols of good fortune. A closer inspection reveals fluttering butterflies and birds hovering amidst blooming white and pink lotuses, peonies, plum blossoms, and chrysanthemums. Each vase is mounted onto a lavish, custom gilt-bronze tripod base. These heavy bases are styled in the Rococo or Chinoiserie taste, featuring scrolling acanthus leaves, openwork filigree, and stylized beasted feet (lion paws) that lift the lamps elegantly.
