Large vintage porcelain table lamp of elegant baluster form, the vertically fluted white-glazed body richly decorated with scattered polychrome butterflies, moths, flowers and leafy sprigs in shades of cobalt blue, turquoise, green, yellow and soft violet, punctuated by delicate gilt accents. The porcelain is surmounted by a coordinating flared and scalloped porcelain collar or cap carrying the same whimsical butterfly-and-floral decoration, creating an especially attractive layered silhouette. The lamp rests on an ornate gilt-metal circular base cast with scrolling acanthus and foliate ornament and raised on small integral feet, while aged brass-tone fittings support a single standard socket above. TThe lamp appears in generally good decorative condition with light surface wear and scattered marks, minor rubbing to the painted and gilt decoration, patination and oxidation to the metal mounts and socket hardware, and typical age-related wear to the electrical components; no obvious major cracks, extensive chips, or significant porcelain losses are visible. Lamp is working. Measures 19.5"H x 8"W.
