Whimsical American folk art painted on joined wooden boards and framed within a rustic wood surround, featuring a stylized fish decorated in red, cream, and dark accents beneath a hand-painted American flag. Scattered stars and simple graphic motifs fill the background and frame, with the inscription “THE AMERICAN FISH” painted along the lower edge. The piece appears signed or initialed at the lower right, though the signature is not fully legible from the photographs. The deliberately primitive execution, weathered wood surface, and patriotic imagery give the work a strong folk-art character. Condition includes surface wear, paint loss, abrasions, age-related cracking and separation to the wood, and general weathering throughout. Measures 29.5"H x 30"W.
