Striking pair of contemporary sculptural ceramic vases designed with dramatic three-dimensional octopus decoration, each combining a softly textured white ground with richly glazed cobalt and navy marine imagery. Offered in two graduated sizes, both feature tall tapering bodies with gently irregular, flared rims and surfaces covered in fine stippled texture, while boldly modeled octopuses emerge from the walls in high relief. Their rounded heads project prominently from the bodies as elaborate curling tentacles wrap around each vase, every arm detailed with individually modeled suction cups and mottled blue, gray, and cream glazing that gives the decoration exceptional depth and movement. The larger vase has an especially commanding sculptural presence, while the smaller example closely mirrors its design and proportions, creating an impressive complementary pair. Interiors are finished in glossy white glaze with subtle horizontal forming lines, and the undersides are unmarked and fitted with protective felt pads. Both pieces present well overall with light surface wear, scattered marks, and minor glaze irregularities consistent with manufacture, handling, and display; no major structural damage is evident.
