A striking old-world wall-mounted lavabo set, designed with the architectural presence of a miniature furnishing and richly embellished with heraldic relief decoration throughout. The upper cistern is formed with a sloping removable lid topped by turned finials, flanking turned supports, and applied crests including a central coat-of-arms motif with opposing heraldic animals, while a bulbous covered reservoir projects from the lower front with its original-style dispensing spout. Beneath it is a separate shaped catch basin with a high scalloped backplate centered by another raised armorial crest and gracefully curved front corners. Constructed of pewter or a similar tin-based metal alloy, the set has developed an attractive muted gray patina that enhances its antique character. Both pieces show expected age and use with scuffs, scratches, oxidation and discoloration, scattered small bends and dents, edge wear, and minor surface losses; the spout is incomplete with a piece missing as shown. A highly decorative antique lavabo with strong architectural and heraldic appeal, well suited for wall display or period interior decoration. Cistern measures 10" H x 9.75" W x 5" D. Basin measures 4" H x 9" W x 6.5" D.
