1995 Fleer Ultra X-Men All-Chromium Lethal Weapons

A complete 1995 Fleer Ultra X-Men All-Chromium "Lethal Weapons" nine-card Holo-Flash chase insert set, comprising the entire numbered sequence 1 of 9 through 9 of 9 and uniting Wolverine, Gambit, Psylocke, Cable, Bishop, Archangel, Domino, Omega Red and Random in one of the most visually distinctive specialty subsets of Fleer's premium 1990s X-Men trading-card program.<br><br>Created exclusively for the Fleer Ultra X-Men All-Chromium issue, the Lethal Weapons cards were true chase inserts rather than part of the standard 100-card base set. Published contemporary-set checklists record the subset at approximately one Lethal Weapons card per six packs, giving the series a substantially more limited pack presence than the regular chromium cards and making completion of the full nine-subject run an important collecting objective within the issue.<br><br>The broader All-Chromium release is particularly notable for its association with the celebrated Kubert family of comic artists - Joe Kubert and his sons Adam and Andy Kubert - whose work helped define the visual identity of the set. Wolverine, unquestionably one of Marvel's cornerstone X-Men characters, dominates his card behind three extended adamantium claws; Gambit erupts through a composition of kinetically charged playing cards; Psylocke appears in an aggressive blade-wielding pose; Cable is framed by the oversized futuristic weaponry inseparable from his 1990s visual identity; and Bishop appears amid blazing firearms and explosive energy.<br><br>The balance of the set is equally dramatic. Archangel's metallic wings form an imposing geometric composition above his portrait; Domino is presented with an enormous firearm against a luminous foil field; Omega Red reaches forward with his formidable coils; and Random discharges his transforming weapon amid an intense radial Holo-Flash effect. Across the full group, Fleer's shifting prismatic surface transforms the Kubert artwork as the viewing angle changes, producing saturated flashes of blue, green, violet, gold and red that are especially characteristic of premium mid-1990s chromium-era non-sport cards.<br><br>As a complete run, the set offers considerably greater collector coherence than an assortment of individual inserts.
