Lot of two pairs of Japanese silver figural cufflinks in mixed-metal and gilt finishes. Pair one: 3D repoussé Buddhist temple lion / foo dog cufflinks in high detail, each guardian shown mid-stride w/ curled mane, bulging eyes, and clouded body, presenting as a mirror-facing pair; gold vermeil finish over silver w/ base metal showing through at high points from wear. Pair two: elongated Japanese Shakudo (dark patinated copper-gold alloy) cufflinks decorated w/ high-relief gilt tulip and lily blossoms, small applied silver plum flowers, and dark leafy scrollwork against the black shakudo ground; mounted on silver backplates marked SILVER w/ T-bar posts also marked SILVER.
