Old primitive wooden storage chest featuring a lift-top lid, iron latch hardware, side carrying handle, raised feet, and simple hand-built construction. The chest has a great aged surface with heavy wear, scratches, staining, discoloration, old finish loss, and naturally developed patina throughout. The darkened wood and iron hardware give it strong primitive, farmhouse, and rustic character. Measures approximately 23 inches wide x 18 inches deep. Height not provided. Exact maker, age, wood species, and original intended use are unknown. Appears to be an older handmade utility or storage chest. Condition shows wear appropriate for age and use, including surface wear, scratches, staining, wood shrinkage, finish loss, oxidation to the hardware, and other age-related wear.
