WWII-era U.S. Navy MK2 fighting/utility knife measuring approximately 13 inches overall with original-style gray fiberglass scabbard. Knife features the classic 7-inch class clip-point blade, stacked leather washer handle, metal guard, and metal pommel. The knife shows substantial period-style wear including blade scratches, staining, patina, oxidation, sharpening wear, and age-related wear to the leather grip. The scabbard is especially noteworthy and is clearly marked: NORD-8114 B.M. Co. 1/2 VP The NORD-8114 marking is associated with a 1945 U.S. Navy ordnance contract for MK1/MK2 fiberglass scabbards, with production extending through the closing months of WWII. B.M. Co. refers to Beckwith Manufacturing Co., with VP identifying its Victory Plastics division. The gray fiberglass scabbard retains its web belt hanger and snap strap and shows heavy service-type wear, scratches, staining, oxidation to hardware, and hand-applied markings. Comparable NORD-8114 scabbards are documented with WWII U.S.N. MK2 knives. Estimated Era: WWII, circa 1945 This item came from a collector’s estate.
