Vintage precision drafting compass by Charvoz, model 11-2287, housed in its original fitted case. This is an adjustable proportional divider/compass with a sliding scale marked for "Lines" and "Circles," allowing the user to set proportions for enlarging or reducing drawings, a staple tool for draftsmen, engineers, and architects in the pre-digital era. The instrument is constructed of brushed steel/nickel-plated metal with fine pivot adjustment and knurled locking screws. The case is a slim black hinged box lined in blue velvet, with a built-in pin/clasp closure and molded compartments shaped to hold the tool securely. The Charvoz name and model number are stamped in gold on the case spine. A nice functional piece for a drafting tool collection or a working replacement for a vintage set.
