This five-gallon Vacuum Marmite is a cylindrical insulated food container produced by the Long Life Lumber Co. Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky. The steel body features horizontal reinforcing ribs finished in protective brown coating with awire bail handle and tension latches. A riveted brass identification plate details manufacturer and patent information. The piece measures 12 inches in diameter and 22.5 inches tall.Exterior exhibits heavy oxidation and rust on the lid, base, and latch mechanisms. The original finish is worn and thin. The interior galvanized liner shows staining and corrosion.
