This cast brass two-piece post war cadet buckle features an American eagle motif with an applied silver-toned metal wreath. The central eagle is depicted with outspread wings beneath a sunburst and a scroll reading E PLURIBUS UNUM. Asingle cast-in-place hook on the reverse of the plate secures the matching keeper. The piece measures 3.25 inches long by 2.25 inches high. The buckle shows a deep mustard patina with wear to high-relief areas and significant loss to the silvered wreath finish. Light verdigris is present on the reverse. A temporary copper wire joins the pieces.
