Vintage 1904 Illinois Watch Co. Bunn Special model 6 mechanical open-face pocket watch featuring a substantial 18-size Silverode base metal case. The interior caseback displays a polished finish stamped with the signature "PHILADELPHIA WATCH CASE CO. SILVERODE" crown trademark crest and case serial number 710011. The spectacular outer caseback showcases a highly detailed, crisp engraved steam locomotive train motif. The white porcelain enamel railroad dial features double-sunk construction, an outer track ring, bold black Arabic numeral hour tracks, red marginal five-minute intervals from 5 to 60, heavy blued steel spade main hands, a independent sub-seconds register above the 6 o'clock mark, and a Gothic-signed upper brand signature reading "Illinois Watch Co." The watch houses a high-grade American-made mechanical manual-wind movement carrying movement serial number 1729668, a native 21 ruby jewels layout in screw-set gold settings, a nickel full-plate layout finish beautifully decorated with a bright spotted damascening pattern, a lever-setting configuration, a Reed regulator assembly, a Double Roller assembly, and explicit plates engraving in Gothic blackletter script reading "Bunn Special Springfield Ill." and "Adjusted Temperature 6 Positions Isochronism".This railroad grade mechanical pocket watch is fully functional and running with steady amplitude tested on a digital timegrapher machine at the time of listing, though a professional service is recommended for precision timing calibration.
