Vintage 1904 Elgin National Watch Co. grade 297 model 5 mechanical open-face pocket watch featuring a heavy, substantial 18-size base metal open-face case. The dual-hinged interior caseback displays a highly polished finish stamped with the signature "DUEBER SILVERINE" anchor cartouche trademark logo alongside factory production markings. The white porcelain enamel dial showcases painted black Arabic numeral hour markers, an outer minute tracking ring with small five-minute interval numbers from 5 to 60, a sunken sub-seconds register dial tracking up to 60 seconds above the 6 position, blued steel spade-style main hands, and a printed upper brand signature framed by decorative arrows reading "Elgin". The watch houses an American-made, full-plate manual-wind safety pinion pocket movement carrying serial number 10830383, a nickel finish with refined damaskeened waves, an unadjusted balance assembly index cock with floral scrollwork engraving, a native 15 jewels layout, and plate engravings reading "Elgin Natl. Watch Co. U.S.A."This mechanical watch is not running, a professional service is required to operate, and extended runtime without service is not guaranteed.
