Vintage 1840s English mechanical open-face pocket watch featuring a substantial 55.50mm coin silver pair-style case. The polished outer caseback displays a hand-engraved oval shield cartouche with geometric accents, while the internal caseback and inner matching silver dust lid show matching historical hallmarks and case fabrication serial number 1073. The original white porcelain enamel dial showcases heavy painted black Roman numeral hour markers, an outer railroad-style minutes ring track, a sunken sub-seconds register dial above the 6 o'clock mark, and an elegant gold-tone spade-style hour hand. The watch houses a premium, hand-crafted English gold-gilt full-plate movement utilizing an antique chain-driven fusee assembly and a traditional vergé escapement mechanism, featuring an exceptionally ornate balance cock bridge piece adorned with high-relief floral scrollwork engraving, blued steel hardware screws, an unadjusted timing registry indexing arc labeled for "Slow" and "Fast", and matching movement production serial number 1073.This mechanical pocket watch is not running, a professional service is required to operate, and extended runtime without service is not guaranteed.
