DRAGON PATTERN LARGE JAR, "MADE IN THE XUANDE PERIOD OF THE GREAT MING DYNASTY". <br>Height:28cm (11.02in) , Diameter:31cm (12.20in) This imposing jar features stout neck, full rounded shoulder and tapering lower body. The neck is decorated with underglaze?blue cloud patterns. The main body is painted in vivid iron?red with a powerful coiling dragon, detailed scales, flowing mane and accompanying flame?cloud scrolls. The lower section is rendered in underglaze?blue with surging ocean waves and rocky mountains. Strong visual contrast exists between cobalt?blue and iron?red pigments under lustrous glaze. The base bears six?character ??Da Ming Xuan De Nian Zhi?? mark within double blue circle. The unglazed foot?ring reveals robust ceramic body with natural age?related wear. Dragon motif symbolizes imperial supremacy.
