Jack White (1933-2016) a sixth generation Texan, great grandson of famous Texas Ranger Ben McGee and great, great grandson of Dillard Cooper, on of the few men that escaped the Goliad Massacre. In 1976 Jack was named the Official Artist of Texas by The Texas Legislature, and the following year a street was named after him. He was the first non-law enforcement person to be named honorary Texas Ranger and given a life-membership into the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame. In 2006 Governor Rick Perry named him honoree Admiral in the Texas Navy, an honor bestowed to only a handful of people. He then turned to writing and penned eight books that have become a respected road map for those in the art world.
