A vintage Effanbee Lovums baby doll featuring a composition head, forearms, and lower legs joined to a stuffed cream-colored cloth torso. The doll has molded and painted blonde hair and green sleep eyes with eyelashes. The open mouth reveals two inset upper teeth. The back of the neck is embossed with the impressed text EFFANBEE LOVUMS followed by a copyright symbol and PAT. NO. 1,283,558. The doll is dressed in a sheer cream cotton featuring pink floral embroidery on the bodice. It includes a matching wide-brimmed lace-trimmed bonnet and cream hand-knitted booties with pink ribbon accents.Total Length: 21 inchesSeated Height: 17 inchesFoot Length: 3.5 inchesThe doll is in fair antique condition with visible age-related wear to the composition and fabric elements. Extensive crazing is present across the face and limbs, particularly on the right arm. Significant paint loss and chipping affect the molded hair at the crown and back of the head and the toes. The sleep eye mechanism is functional. The bonnet has a visible hole in the crown, and the ribbons are frayed. The cloth body shows light age-related discoloration.
