Pair of Venetian Gold-Leaf Glass Winged-Dragon Candlesticks. 20th century. Blown-glass candlesticks, each modeled with a winged dragon or serpent rising from an elaborate cluster of looped glass. Clear bodies incorporate gold-leaf inclusions and ribbed gilt knops, supported on broad spiral-molded circular feet and surmounted by flared candle sockets. Condition: Overall surface wear, dust, and rubbing or losses to the gilding. Possible minute nicks to delicate applied details and edges. Natural variations from hand manufacture. One foot is lightly scratch-marked ‘2004,’ apparently an inventory number. No major breakage evident in the photographs.
