Alvin precision drawing set in a hinged case with a fitted blue velvet tray and the Alvin foil label inside the lid. The tray holds bow compasses and dividers with knurled adjusting nuts, a large compass with a beam extension bar, two ruling pens with black handles marked with the Alvin logo, a blue plastic lead pointer, clear tubes of spare needle points and leads, several spare lead sticks still in their factory wrappers, and a yellow chamois cleaning cloth. A few tray slots are open, so the set is close to complete but is not guaranteed full. Drafting sets like this were standard issue for engineers, architects and drafting students from the 1950s into the 1980s, and the instruments are still used for fine layout work. Also included is a vintage thumb pump oil can with a long flexible ribbed spout, bare steel with an aged patina and light rust. Condition is good for age, with tarnish on the instruments and wear to the case covering. Not tested for function. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
