United States 1¢ green Benjamin Franklin stamp from the Fourth Bureau Issue (1922–1938 series).IdentificationDesign: Benjamin Franklin portrait in an oval frame, “UNITED STATES POSTAGE” at top, “1 CENT 1” at bottom, “FRANKLIN” below the portrait. Green color.Perforations: You measured gauge 11 × 11 (all sides).Design size: You measured approximately 19.50 × 22.50 mm.Printing: Unwatermarked paper (consistent with issues from 1922 onward). The reverse shows typical used paper with some residual cancel ink showing through; no clear watermark or original gum visible. The heavy black markings are a machine cancellation (not a postal overprint or surcharge). It appears to be a Chicago, Illinois cancel with the city name Condition: Used, with a heavy Chicago machine cancel that covers much of the design. Perforations appear intact but the heavy cancel and any possible faults (creases, thins, or short perfs) reduce eye appeal. Centering looks average.
