A single cast metal belt buckle featuring the heraldic coat of arms for Belgium. The central shield is surmounted by a royal crown with maroon enamel detailing and carries the title BELGIE across the top in white lettering on a black ground. The shield is divided into sections displaying regional Belgian heraldry, including representations of the lions of Brabant and Flanders, the perron of Liège, and the keys of Antwerp. The composition is flanked by two rampant lion supporters and decorated with cold enamel inlays in red, black, white, blue, and green. The reverse of the piece is incised with the mark MADE IN BELGIUM. Two circular mounting holes are present on the lateral edges of the design. Dimensions: Width approx. 6.4 cm x Height approx. 5.1 cm (Measured against a visible tape measure). Condition: The buckle is in good vintage condition. The obverse shows minor surface wear and some loss to the silvered finish, notably on the relief of the left-hand lion. The enamel remains largely intact with some age-appropriate dulling. The reverse exhibits significant oxidation, tarnishing, and surface pitting consistent with age and exposure.
