Pelham Puppet Kit

This vintage puppet assembly kit was manufactured by Pelham Puppets Ltd. of Marlborough, England. Designated as Kit No. 1, it contains components designed for the construction of two fully jointed marionette puppets. The kit is presented in its original two-piece cardboard box with blue printed identification on the lid. The wooden parts include two turned heads, shaped torso blocks, cylindrical dowels for limbs and control bars, and shaped wooden boots. Additional assembly materials include two cards of linen thread in black and tan, pink cylindrical joint sleeves, and small lead hand components. A large-format illustrated instruction sheet is included, detailing four stages of assembly along with directions for painting, dressing, and operating the finished marionettes. Dimensions: Width approx. 7 inches (measured against a ruler). Condition: The kit remains in an unassembled, vintage state. Wooden components show natural grain and light surface wear. The instruction sheet exhibits age-related toning and creases from original folding. The cardboard box displays shelf wear, minor staining, and light edge compression.
