The barrel is stamped "Manufactured by Savage Arms Corp., Utica, N.Y., U.S.A." with a run of patent dates (July 25, 1893 through June 1909) and "Hi-Pressure Steel — Sav. .300," along with an individual serial number stamped on the frame. The rifle breaks down via a knurled takedown screw at the forend, and the receiver's brass-toned side plate covers the cartridge-count window typical of the platform. The rifle wears a trim, straight-grip walnut stock and forearm with diamond-point checkering, a smooth-cycling lever with a wide, comfortable finger loop, and a blued barrel paired with a casehardened-style frame finish. Overall condition is excellent, with crisp markings, tight wood-to-metal fit, and only minor handling wear throughout. A fantastic early example for lever-action and Savage collectors alike — the takedown 1899's clever engineering and clean lines have kept it a sought-after classic for well over a century.
