1986 Fleer #7 Charles Barkley NBA Basketball Rookie Trading Card. One of the key rookie cards from what has become one of the most celebrated basketball sets of the modern collecting era. The landmark 1986 Fleer release helped usher basketball cards into a new generation and is renowned for its extraordinary checklist of Hall of Fame rookie cards, with Barkley standing alongside Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone and other legends whose first Fleer cards have become cornerstones of the hobby. Barkley entered the NBA as the fifth overall selection in the 1984 NBA Draft and quickly established himself as an unusually powerful and athletic forward, eventually earning the nickname "Sir Charles." Over a brilliant 16 season career with the Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets, Barkley accumulated more than 23,000 points and 12,000 rebounds, earned 11 NBA All Star selections, captured the 1992-93 NBA Most Valuable Player Award, and was a member of the legendary 1992 United States Olympic "Dream Team." He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006 and remains one of the most recognizable personalities in basketball history. Featuring the unmistakable red, white and blue bordered design that defines the 1986 Fleer set, Barkley's #7 rookie has long been regarded as an essential card from this legendary issue and an important early collectible of one of the NBA's greatest players, making it a tremendous addition to any vintage basketball, Hall of Fame, Philadelphia 76ers or Charles Barkley collection.
