Autographed 1986 Larry Fritsch Negro League Baseball Stars Trading Cards (23 Cards Total - All Signed). Signatures Include: (2x) Lorenzo "Piper" Davis, (2x) Lou Dials, (2x) Larry Kimbrough, Buck Leonard, Ray Dandridge, Monte Irvin, Buck O'Neil, Bill Cash, Joe Scott, Bob Boyd, Marlin Carter, Ron Teasley, Sam Jethroe, Mahlon Duckett, Normal "Tweed" Webb, Verdell Mathis, Jimmie Crutchfield, Buster Haywood, Max Manning & Sidney "Sy" Morton. An extraordinary roster of Hall of Famers, Negro League stars and historically significant players on one of the hobby's important early issues dedicated to preserving Negro League baseball history. The collection is headlined by National Baseball Hall of Famers Buck Leonard, Ray Dandridge, Monte Irvin and Buck O'Neil, representing four towering figures whose careers span the Negro Leagues, baseball integration and the eventual recognition of Black baseball's rightful place in Major League history. Leonard was the legendary first baseman of the Homestead Grays and one of the greatest hitters of his generation, Dandridge was a brilliant third baseman and longtime Negro League and Latin American star, Irvin became a Newark Eagles great before starring with the New York Giants, and O'Neil became one of the most beloved ambassadors for Negro League history. The grouping also features two signed cards each of Lorenzo "Piper" Davis, Lou Dials and Larry Kimbrough, along with signed examples of Bill Cash, Joe Scott, Bob Boyd, Marlin Carter, Ron Teasley, Sam Jethroe, Mahlon Duckett, Normal "Tweed" Webb, Verdell Mathis, Jimmie Crutchfield, Buster Haywood, Max Manning and Sidney "Sy" Morton. The breadth of the collection is particularly compelling, encompassing players from some of the Negro Leagues' most celebrated organizations, including the Homestead Grays, Newark Eagles, Birmingham Black Barons and Philadelphia Stars, as well as men whose careers continued into integrated professional baseball. With all of the players represented now deceased, the available supply of their genuine signatures is permanently limited, and autographs of many of the lesser documented Negro League veterans can be especially challenging to locate today. Combining 23 signed cards, four Hall of Famers and an exceptional concentration of Negro League history, this remarkable grouping serves as both an impressive autograph collection and a tangible record of the players whose achievements helped shape the history of American baseball.
