25-Character Title Lladro Winter Bell (18) Alternates: Lladro 17616 Winter Bell (24) Lladro Bisque Winter Bell (25) Lladro 1991 Winter Bell (23) HiBid DESCRIPTION LLADR MATTE BISQUE PORCELAIN BELL - "WINTER", No. 17616, ISSUED 1991 AND RETIRED 1998, WITH ORIGINAL BOX The tenth Lladr piece from this estate and the second unglazed piece in the group. A small dome-form hanging bell in white matte bisque porcelain, modeled in low relief with a winter scene of a young woman in a long coat and bonnet walking through falling snow past evergreen trees and a distant house, with snowflakes worked into the field above her. The lower body carries a soft pale blue band just above the flared rim, the only color on the piece, and there is a pierced loop at the crown for hanging. Inside is a white porcelain clapper suspended on a gilt wire. The interior carries a blue printed Lladr backstamp and two small paper factory dots. Model 17616, one of Lladr's seasonal bells, issued in 1991 and retired in 1998. It comes with its original white and gray Lladr carton printed with the bell-flower logo and LLADR, with an end panel showing a photograph of the bell, an M size code, and barcode 7 37859 17616 2. Roughly 2.7 to 3 inches high and about the same across the rim. Sold as one bell with its original box. Description Lladr white matte bisque porcelain bell, dome or bell-tent form with a plain flared rim and a small pierced knob loop at the top for a ribbon or ornament hook. Low-relief winter scene running around the body: a young woman in a long full skirt, coat, and bonnet walking to the left, with evergreen or fir trees behind her, a suggestion of a distant building and fence line, and scattered snowflakes and bare branches modeled into the upper field; the relief is soft and shallow, the way Lladr worked these seasonal bells. A soft pale blue band around the lower body just above the rim, the single element of color on an otherwise all-white piece. Interior fitted with a white porcelain teardrop clapper hung on a gilt metal wire from a coiled loop at the crown; the clapper is present and attached. The interior wall is marked with a blue printed Lladr backstamp that is only partly visible and not fully legible in the photograph, along with a small round teal paper factory dot and a second round paper dot. Because the mark is photographed at an angle and partly out of frame, no wording, year, or DAISA line from that mark is quoted here. Original box included, a white carton with gray panels printed with the bell-flower logo and LLADR, taped at the lid, with an end panel showing a photograph of the bell, a small Lladr logo, a size code M, printed model numerals that are small and partly illegible, and barcode 7 37859 17616 2. Roughly 2.7 to 3 inches high and 2.7 to 3 inches across, consistent with the tape-measure photograph, in which the tape is stood on the carpet beside the bell rather than fixed to it, so the figures are close estimates.
