FRAMED VICTORIAN-STYLE PRINT - LITTLE GIRL FEEDING HER DOLL IN A HIGH CHAIR, DOUBLE-MATTED IN A GOLD FRAME A sweet, well-presented framed print of a small girl in a long pinafore and green dress standing at a wooden high chair, feeding a bisque-head doll seated in it with a spoon, her back to the viewer and her long hair tied with a ribbon. The image is reproduced with a warm sepia and hand-tinted look and a pronounced crackle or craquelure surface texture that gives it the appearance of an old painting, and it is finished in soft muted tones of cream, sage green, and dusty rose. It is double matted, a deep burgundy inner mat with a wide cream outer mat, and framed in a slim gold molding with a thin green fillet line along the inner edge, under glass. Modest in size at roughly sixteen inches square, it makes an easy, universally appealing wall piece for a nursery, a child's room, a hallway, a sewing or craft room, or a doll collector's display, and it also shows well grouped with the other framed art offered in this sale. Description Framed reproduction print, sentimental Victorian-style genre subject, a young girl in a white eyelet pinafore over a green dress with high-button shoes, feeding a doll seated in a spindle-back wooden high chair. Image is printed with a heavy crackle or craquelure texture over the surface, so it reads as an aged painting reproduction rather than a photographic print. A faint mark that may be a signature appears along the lower right edge of the image, but it is illegible in these photographs, and no printed title, publisher line, edition number, or copyright notice is visible, so no artist, title, publisher, date, or edition is claimed. Double mat, deep burgundy or maroon inner mat with a cream or off-white outer mat, both cut with clean beveled openings. Frame is a slim stepped molding roughly one inch across in a warm antiqued gold finish with a fine dark green fillet line along the inner step, mitered corners, glazed under glass.
