Pair of vintage Fostoria American clear pressed-glass boat-shaped serving dishes, also called gondola bowls or relish trays. This lot includes one large approximately 12-inch boat dish and one smaller approximately 9-inch boat dish; both pieces sell together as one bidding unit. Each dish features Fostoria's classic American No. 2056 geometric cubist or "ice-cube" pattern, with raised diamond-style facets, sawtooth/scalloped rim, and radiant rayed starburst bottom. Both dishes have elegant upturned scroll handles at each end. The larger dish measures approximately 12 inches long overall, including handles, and about 5 inches wide. The smaller dish measures approximately 9 inches long overall, including handles, and approximately 4 inches wide. Measurements are taken from the tape shown in photographs and are approximate. Comparable Fostoria American gondola dishes are documented as 12 inches long by about 5 inches wide. These versatile serving pieces are ideal for pickles, olives, celery, candies, nuts, fruit, condiments, or other small side dishes. They also make attractive display pieces when paired with other Fostoria American pattern glassware. No major chips or cracks were observed during visual inspection. Light surface wear, small mold marks, minor scratches, or age-appropriate manufacturing variations may be present.
