Vintage 1930s Shanghai-era advertising poster for Gande, Price & Co., Ltd., Wines, Spirits & Cigars, featuring an elegantly dressed Chinese woman seated in an interior surrounded by illustrated bottles of imported liquor. Advertising includes Haig Whisky, Moet & Chandon Champagne, Taylor's London Dry Gin, and other period wine and spirits brands, with English and Chinese text and calendar panels along the sides. The upper inscription lists the firm's address at St. George's Building, Ice House Street, Hong Kong. A striking example of pre-war Chinese commercial advertising combining traditional calendar-poster imagery with Western luxury products. 35" x 24" framed.
