This is not a fifty-state book. It is a United States Commemorative Statehood Quarters Collector's Album, Volume II, covering 2004 through 2008 only. Its fifty recesses hold two coins for each of the twenty-five states of those years, an upper and a lower row for the Philadelphia and Denver strikings. All fifty are filled with circulated clad quarters displayed reverse up, so no mint mark can be checked and the P and D pairing the layout implies cannot be verified. Many coins, most of 2006 and nearly all of 2007 and 2008, show a pronounced gold or brass color while rows beside them read normal gray. That coloring cannot be identified from photographs and may be toning, a coating or the lighting. Worth knowing: the 2008 designs closed the program with the lowest mintages of the run, as coin demand had fallen by then. Clad carries no silver and no melt. Fifty quarters are $12.50 face, so the album is a real share of the value. Estimated Value: $14 to $22. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot.
