Nick Purdo Detroit, MI c.1968 16" long Primarily regarded as a working decoy carver, very few, if any of his high grade competition decoys ever surface. Making this hollow carved example a rare opportunity to acquire on his best efforts. The underside bears a dated 1968 Great Mississippi Valley International Decoy Contest exhibition sticker. The decoy eventually found its way to fellow competitor Bill Joeckel who later on sold it to our consignor.Condition: Very good and original, hairline crack across part of bridge of bill, with a few tiny paint flakes missing from the tail edgeProvenance: Private Collection Bill Joeckel
