Vintage Savage Model 340 bolt-action rifle chambered in .30-30 Winchester. Introduced in 1950, the Model 340 is an unusual and practical hunting rifle that combines the classic .30-30 cartridge with a bolt action and detachable box-magazine system. This rifle is in fair overall vintage condition, showing finish wear, handling marks, and other signs of age and use. It has no serial number, consistent with a factory-produced example manufactured before the federal serialization requirements established in 1968. The detachable magazine is missing and is not included with the rifle. Correct three-round Savage Model 340/Stevens 325/Springfield 840-pattern .30-30 magazines are available separately.
