Beautiful pair of Mata Ortiz pottery ollas, each attributed to a Hernandez artist. The larger polychrome olla is by Martha Hernandez and features an intricate hand-painted geometric design in black, cream, and reddish-brown tones with elongated feather-like elements and a repeating border. It measures approximately 4.5" tall x 5.75" wide with a 3.5" opening. The smaller blackware olla is by “Monce” Hernandez and features a polished dark finish with subtle contrasting geometric decoration and a flared rim. It measures approximately 2.5" tall x 2.5" wide with a 1.5" opening. A wonderful collectible pairing of Mata Ortiz pottery and Mexican Southwestern ceramic art. Preowned and may show minor surface wear consistent with age and display. See photos for details and condition.
