Antique Camelback Wood And Metal Steamer Trunk

This antique Victorian era camelback steamer trunk features a rounded hump lid design reinforced with heavy contoured wood slats and decorative brass sheets. The storage chest is trimmed with ornate cast metal corner brackets, floral edge bindings, and structural metal bands across the front face. It retains its original heavy central locking mechanism with an old hanging padlock attached, alongside two flip down outer latches and sturdy leather side lift handles. Opening the trunk reveals a clean wood plank interior lined with early paper accents that include small patterned border details and a floral lithograph decal under the lid. The exterior exhibits a rich primitive patina with widespread surface wear, scratches, scuffs, localized tarnish, and minor rust on the metal hardware from decades of historical storage.
