R Serial # T10360. .22 LR caliber semi auto take-down rifle with a 26-1/2” barrel. The bore is excellent, mostly clean with strong rifling with some light fouling. Tubular magazine in the butt. Unique action with no ejection port, the fired casings are collected inside the receiver and are emptied by pulling down on the trigger guard which also serves as a cover for the spent shell collection area. The front half of the rifle separates by lifting the latch at the front of the receiver and pulling the barrel assembly forward. Made in England. The blued metal finish on the barrel is in poor condition; it has been worn to bare metal with a covering of moderate rust and older cleaned rust. The blued metal finish on the receiver is in fair condition showing edge wear, thinning and a covering of moderate to heavy rust. The plain walnut forearm is in very good condition showing light marks with light finish wear. The matching smooth walnut butt stock is in good condition showing light marks with finish wear and a crack on the left side. The checkered steel butt plate is rusty. Original front and rear sights. The action seems to function OK. Caution!! When the first round is loaded into the magazine, it goes directly into the chamber and is ready to fire. Please be safe!! Approx. 5000 made from 1947-1951. C&R.
