F. & F. Aunt Jemima & Uncle Mose Plastic Shakers

A collection of four vintage plastic salt and pepper shakers depicting the promotional characters Aunt Jemima and Uncle Mose. These figures were manufactured by F. & F. Mold & Die Works in Dayton, Ohio, for the Quaker Oats Company. The set includes two matching pairs in two different sizes. Each figure is dressed in red clothing with white aprons or collars, while the male figures feature yellow trousers. The smaller male figure is marked with raised lettering reading UNCLE MOSE on the lower back. The base of at least one shaker is embossed with a mark in a scalloped rectangular cartouche reading F. & F. MOLD & DIE WORKS DAYTON, OHIO above the phrase MADE IN U.S.A. Both larger figures retain green plastic stoppers, while the smaller figures possess clear translucent stoppers.Large Figure Height: 5 1/4 inchesSmall Figure Height: 3 1/2 inchesThe shakers are in good vintage condition. A vertical crack is present on the white apron of the smaller female figure. There is noticeable paint wear and loss to the facial details, particularly the lips and eyebrows, on all four pieces.
