A pair of vintage Japanese glazed ceramic salt and pepper shakers depicting stylized Americana figures. The female figure is modeled wearing a red headscarf and dress with a white collar and apron. The male figure is rendered in a red jacket, yellow bowtie, and yellow trousers, shown holding a small black bowl. Both figurines feature a high-gloss finish in vibrant primary colors. The underside of each figure contains a translucent plastic stopper embossed with text reading MADE IN JAPAN. There are no other legible maker marks or decorator signatures on the ceramic bodies.Height: 3.75 inchesThe figurines are in good overall vintage condition with visible surface crazing throughout the glaze. Minor manufacturing glaze skips and areas of overpainting are present, specifically red glaze runoff on the unglazed base of the female figure. Plastic stoppers are present and functional. There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
